Attack of pistachio root-producing nematodes in pistachio nurseries causes the destruction of a significant number of seedlings and infection in young trees disrupts the physiology (biological functions) of the attacked trees.

Due to the entry of this nematode into the root and its nutrition, a tuber-like state is created in the place where the nematode lives inside the root, which is the reason for its naming.
